Welcome Independent Filmmakers!

Hopefully, you’ve come to terms with the fact that there are no set rules to making a great film.  Granted, you need good actors, a strong script and a good director to bring the script to life.  And of course, having Jean-Paul Gaultier (the costume designer from “The Fifth Element”), with a perfect filming location in British Columbia, the perfect natural lighting and a million other things won’t hurt either.   These things would be nice, but still no guarantee of a good film.  Just look at Water World.  

So, in the end, there is no magic formula to making a great film.  There is no sage writing web pages who will give you all you need to know about such an intricate process.  (Although, some of us on this project like to thinks so).

Knowing this, we’ve gone through the work of gathering a series of basic tips and products to help you along with your career.   Whether you’re interested in learning how to make your own short film or the best advice for the lighting and sound, the smartest thing you can do is educate yourself.  We’ve collected the best products from the web for this purpose.  If you have had positive experience with other learning tools that you feel should be included on this page, we encourage you to email us with details.
